An elegant addition to the celebrity fragrance market

Yet another celebrity fragrance hits the shelves, and with some rather specific tones “M” could fall foul of the fragrance market. However – much like Mariah Carey’s musical career this scent – despite criticisms and detractors – has what it takes to last long after other fragrances are no longer in demand. Miss Carey certainly has her share of devoted fans who will pay the slightly inflated price just to own a scent that encapsulates Mariah’s childhood memories and favorite vacation spots, but it is in the multiple and sometimes outlandish notes of the perfume that the secret to its success will lie. The fragrance appears initially (though not overly) sweet (marshmallows) and warm, reminiscent of a bubble gum body spray pre-teens will load up on to make the boys swoon at junior prom. It’s as the fragrance develops and settles (after even a few minutes) where the remaining notes develop and the moroccan incense and tiare flower bring depth and age to the fragrance bringing to mind a more mature 40 something making the extra effort to smell classy on her first date in a while! Unlike many celeb perfumes – Mariah Carey apparently worked very closely with Elizabeth Arden to produce this perfume and “composed it as she does her songs”. It seems almost poetic then that the fragrance has the appeal to draw in fans one wouldn’t usually expect to buy a celeb perfume, and like her multi-octave voice – has enough range to strike a chord with any age group.

Ideal autumn/winter scent

If you like Pink Sugar, Fantasy, Angel, Princess or Flowerbomb you need to try M. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. The notes of marshmallow & sea breeze accord bring back childhood memories of autumn holiday’s by the sea, walking along near the fairs.
Despite it not being overpowering, the staying power is very good. I love the colour purple & I have a butterfly tattoo, so I think the bottle is lovely.
Scent notes: Marshmallow, sea breeze accord, Tahitian Tiare, gardenia, sheer amber, patchouli and Moroccan incense.

This fragrance is in the line of Chanel No 5, Caroline Herrera & Jessica McClintock- a classy yet elegant smell leaving you feeling beautiful, sexy and exquisite, just like Mariah, ’nuff said, worth very penny!
